11 Years Later

Since today was my day off I decided to take the morning to attend the memorial service at Flight 93 National Memorial.  Sitting next to representatives from United Airlines and listening to the remarks by the speakers and the names being read and the bell toll was an experience that I am great-full to have.  I was moved by the experience and years of memories from the time that I have had since what will be remembered as the defining event of my lifetime.  I cannot express how much I gave thanks in that moment.  After the service standing before the wall I prayed and in that moment of silence expressed my thankfulness before a wall of names.  People that have not had the gift of the last 11 years.  These were fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, sons and daughters.  These people sacrificed themselves to protect other lives, and because of that I’m thankful.

Going into the gym afterwards I not only did my normal work but I followed it up with the hero WOD Bradshaw.  Felt good, lots of work, now I’m beat.
